11 | Experimental Investigation on Cycle Time Reduction in Second Pass Roof Panels P.Viswabharathy, R.Harimaheswaran, E.Ajith Kumar, A.Aravindhan, I.Aravindan, B.Chandra Prakash Abstract - This once through supercritical (OTSC) technology has become a focal point for increasing coal-based thermal power generation sector in India. Indian Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs), typically 4,000 MW each, were undertaken during the 11th five year plan (ended in 2012) and are slated to address increasing coal-based thermal power generation throughout the 12th and 13th five year plans. OTSC technology is expected to account for 40% of all coal-based thermal capacity additions during the upcoming 12th five year plan and all coal-based capacity additions for the 13th plan. These aggressive plans are set against a backdrop of fuel shortages as coal consumption has increased 6% while proven domestic reserves have increased only about 2.5%. The use of imported coals continues to address indigenous coal supply shortfalls. The Indian Central Electricity Authority (CEA) stipulated in 2011 that all future indigenous coal based thermal power plant boilers are to be designed for utilization of fuel blend ratios of 30% imported coal/70% indigenous coal. Thus fuel flexibility will become an issue of increasing importance in the adoption of OTSC technology in India. |

12 | Stable Heterogeneous Energy Efficient Protocol with Optimum Clustering (SHEEP-OC) in Wireless Sensor Network Mohammed Moyed Ahmed,Dr. D. Sreenivasa Rao Abstract - Coverage holes and unbalanced energy consumption issues within the cluster and inter- cluster is caused by uneven clustering and uneven energy consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). We propose an optimized clustering and multi-hop cluster communication routing protocol SHEEP-OC, an improvement of SHEEP protocol. The optimized partitioning is done using RF communication based energy consumption model. Improved energy efficiency, coverage hole problem and balanced energy consumption of nodes in a cluster, can be achieved by using inter-cluster routing. It uses cluster head's energy and distance from the base station for selecting the minimum cost routing. The experimental simulation results show that the proposed algorithm effectively reduces the network energy consumption and prolong the life cycle of the network, it also increases the data throughput of the network. |

Londe Abstract - BUSES have become an important means of transport in cities. This public transport is used by majority of the population in cities. But as we know that nothing is perfect, buses also have one drawback that is the commuters have to wait for too much time for the bus to arrive; which in turn leads to usage of private vehicles thus leading to increase in fuel consumption. Rather than waiting for buses it would be beneficial for the passengers to know the tentative timing of the buses, so that they can plan their journey accordingly. In this paper, we proposed smart bus tracking system that any passenger with a smart phone or mobile device with the query asked by user on his personal mobile device stops to view estimated bus arrival times, bus current locations, and bus routes on a map. 27 | Besteering the Robotic Arm Using Steady State Visually Evoked Potential Signal of Direct Neural Interface S.Murugan@Prakasam, M.Renuka, A.Sangeetha, S.Shanmuga Eswari Abstract - In this paper the Direct Neural Interface (DNI) and Steady State Visual Evoked Potential (SSVEP) have been effectively integrated to enable the robotic arm to perform operation guided by human mind. First, the Electroencephalography (EEG) signal is captured by using the wearable EEG headset which interprets the actions envisaged in the human operator’s mind. The SSVEP-EEG signal requires no prior information on features in contrast to the traditional servoing mechanisms. The proposed erratic algorithm for DNI generates decree signals for the robotic arm using SSVEP signal features obtained from neural activity of human operator’s brain. The algorithm used in this DNI for SSVEP processing was designed for nonlinear and non-stationary signals. The Empirical State Disintegration (ESD) will decompose the SSVEP signals into Inherent State Function (ISFs). SSVEP-related ISFs were selected by computing the instantaneous frequency, and then the frequency with the maximum presence probability and closest to the stimulation frequency was identified as the target. The outcome is to drive the robotic arm using the intent trajectories in human operator’s mind. Extensive experiment studies executed out to confirm the validity of the proposed method. |

28 | Experimental Investigation on Comparison of Soil Stabilization by Using Waste Plastic and Coirfibre M.Vinoth, A.Ayyappan, P.Keerthana, D.Pandiselvi, K. Priya Dharshini, S.Radhika Abstract - Soil stabilization is a process which improves the physical properties of soil, such as increasing shear strength, bearing capacity etc. which can be done by use of controlled compaction .This new technique of soil stabilization can be effectively used to meet the challenges of society, to reduce the quantities of waste, producing useful material from non-useful waste materials.Soil stabilization provides a capping layer thereby increases the CBR of the soil to the desired level. The Waste Plastic and coir fibre are used here as stabilization additives.Plastic such as waste plastic bottles is used to as a soil stabilizer to improving the safe bearing capacity of soil. Plastic strips obtained from waste plastic were mixed randomly with the soil is taken as 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75% and 1% This is due to the change in brittle behaviour of the soil to ductile behavior. In this study, the stabilizing effect of Coconut coir Fibre (Natural Fibre) on soil properties has been Experimental studied. Keeping in this view an experimental study is conducted on locally available soil mixed with varying percentage of Coconut coir fibre. Use of Coconut coir Fibre for improving soil property is advantageous because they are cheap, locally available and eco-friendly. The percentage of Coconut coir fibre by dry weight of soil is taken as 0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75% and 1%. Tests result indicates that CBR value of soil increases with the increase in Coconut coir fibre content CBR value increases from 8.1 % to 13.2 % of soil mixed with 1% Coconut coir fibre. Adding of coconut coir fibre results in less thickness of pavement due to increase in CBR of mix and reduce the cost of construction and hence economy of the construction will be achieved. This is because of composite effect of Coconut coir fibre (Natural Fibre) changes the brittle behaviour of the soil to ductile behaviour. Soil stabilization has become a major issue in construction engineering and the researches regarding the effectiveness of using natural wastes are rapidly increasing. The use of natural fibers to reinforce soil is an old and ancient idea. The main aim of this paper, compared to the results obtained on waste plastic and coir fibre materials used separately.
